Kamila Nasr is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer whose work bridges global folk traditions with contemporary compositions. Known for her dynamic stage presence and her ability to move fluidly between genres, she draws on a wide range of influences from traditional music of the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Kamila grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada in a family of musicians. She is proficient in Celtic harp, flute, piano, guitar, harmonium, and me- lodica.

Kamila’s artistic voice is shaped by years of living and performing across the world, including extended pe- riods in China, Brazil and Canada. Her time in China was especially formative: she was an instrumentalist with leading Chinese rock musicians including Cui Jian (崔健), Su Zixu (苏紫旭), and Zhang Chu (张楚), performing repertoire that bridged Chinese folk, pro- gressive rock, and contemporary world music. For a decade Kamila was the lead singer of Sambasia - a Chinese Samba band - where she brought Brazilian rhythms to life with her vibrant vocals and honed her skill in leading ensemble-driven performances.

In 2018, Kamila relocated to Montreal, Quebec, where she currently lives, continuing to compose and record new music from her home studio. With diplo- mas in sound engineering, sound design, and sound integration, she brings a deep passion for crafting soundscapes that complement visuals. Kamila has col- laborated with filmmakers and game designers, using her expertise to help bring their creative projects to life.

She is a core member of Ikoum, a duo based in Mon- treal known for its vibrant fusion of global folk and modern arrangements performed on bass, Celtic harp, and vocals. Kamila also performs with ASHK, a four piece world music ensemble, where she recently helped develop a series of new, grant-supported compositions. Beyond her ensemble work, Kamila has composed and performed original music for circus and aerial arts, including collaborations with Acrobat- ic Conundrum, creating immersive, multidisciplinary performances that combine music and circus.

Her current solo projects explore electronic folk sounds, personal stories of migration and heritage, and collaborative pieces that celebrate cultural connection. Kamila’s shows are engaging, intimate, and full of emotion. Kamila welcomes opportunities to share her music with new audiences across Canada and internationally.
